1: Begin by ordering all your SCVs to harvest. Do not begin construction on another SCV. Save the 50 mineral at this point.
2: As soon as you get 150 mineral, order one of your SCV's to build a barracks. By the time this is finished, you will have another 150. Build a bunker right next to your minerals. Make a marine in the barracks, and place him in the bunker. This will hold off any opponents rushes.
3: Build three more SCV's and 3 more marines. (Place the marines in the bunker). Construct a refinery, and build an machine center. As soon as it is finished, construct the add on. As the funds become available, make an engineering bay. Build a supply depot or two. Build TWO armories. (Very improntant!).
4: Make two siege tanks and four goliaths. Research siege mode, and begin to upgrade your air weapons. Build three more supply depots and an academy. Construct the comsat station add-on for your command center. Build five SCV's, and have them harvest. As soon as siege mode is researched, place the siege tanks and goliaths near your front lines. These will help keep the enemy occupied while you build up your attack.
5: Construct two space ports with add-ons. Begin building wraiths like a mad fool. (twelve to be exact). While they are building, construct a science lab with a physics lab add-on. Research the yamato gun and reactor upgrade there, while buying the cloaking ability for your wraiths. Construct more supply depots as you need them.
6: Began building eight battle cruisers. You will have to start an expansion base at this point, so make four more SCVs and escort them to a resource node with your tanks and goliaths. The wraiths can handle a direct assault on your base. If it looks like you will have trouble, build missile turrets to help defend your expansion.
7: As the battle cruisers finish, add a comsat station to your expansion base. You may need the added recon. Hot-key them to "9" and "0" so they can be quickly accessed. You don't want cloaked units destroying these ultra expensive warships. By now you should have your air weapons and armor fully upgraded.
8: With all the comsats, you should easily know where your enemy is by now. Move the battle ships into attack position. Cloak the wraiths and keep them near the cruisers - do no engage with them. The fighters are for killing scourges, scouts, or opposition wraiths. Blast bunkers and cannons to flinders using the yamato guns. If you see an air attack coming, order your cruisers to hold their ground. At 500 hit points and max armor, a battle cruiser can absorb wild amounts of damage, and their powerful cannon deals death to ground and air attackers alike. However, always remember that large groups of scouts or wraiths can be disastrous. It is imperative that you keep your supporting fighters near by.
9: Once you bust the opponent's main choke point, begin dismantling his main base. Move your goliaths and siege tanks against their expansion(s), which are usually unable to defend against this type of attack. When destroying buildings, go after the star port first. They will have so much accumulated money by now that workers are worthless targets. Next, demolish barracks, and then supplies. With their ability to produce attack units gone, coupled with diminished supply lines, it will be a simple mop up operation from then on out.
To defend against these attacks:
Protoss | A protoss player needs a large group of scouts, with a few observers thrown in for good measure. Build twelve scouts and four observers all together. Once you have accomplished this, train four templars. Be sure to have hallucination researched. Hallucinate two of the observers, and as many of the scouts as you can. Launch this swarm at the terran fleet. Most of their fire will be wasted on mirages, and when they try to detect your observers, they will have six targets instead of four. For a terran, this defense is his worst nightmare. |

Terran | A terran player facing this tactic should build two groups of twelve wraiths. He also needs to invest in plenty of bunkers and missile turrets. Cloak the wraiths and attack the battle cruisers. You should be able to destroy all eight before their wraiths kill you. You will probably loose all twenty-four ships, but you've won the battle - their remaining wraiths don't' have a chance at getting in your defenses, and he spent way more money than you. Re-build your forces and go on the offensive - they will be drained of money by now. |
Zerg | Defilers are the only real zerg answer to this scenario. Build 8 defilers and 12 mutalisks. Also, hatch 2 queens. Bury the defilers along the war fleet's flight path. When they fly close, use cancer on their battleships as many time as you can. Move in the queens and use ensnare on the wraiths. (You can see their distortions even when cloaked ). Cancer the wraiths once. Now hit them before they can retreat with the mutalisks. Their bouncing projectiles will produce simply astounding effects on the damaged ships. |
